We have just completed the second week of school. That is hard to believe! This week in Math we have learned to round numbers to the nearest tenth and hundredth. We also practiced adding and subtracting numbers with decimals. The students were allowed to use their calculators to check their work. WE WILL HAVE A TEST TUESDAY OVER ROUNDING AND ADDING AND SUBTRACTING NUMBERS WITH DECIMALS.
In Science we covered chapter eight of their text, Weather. We will review again on Tuesday and Wednesday, then have a TEST ON THURSDAY. They wrote a reminder about the test in their planner.
In Social Studies we have learned about map skills and geography vocabulary. They should know the seven continents, four oceans, cardinal directions, intermediate directions and the six types of maps. We reviewed Friday and will review again Tuesday. The TEST WILL BE WEDNESDAY. If they study the study guides and work sheets, they will do well on the test.
Remember, if they score below 80 percent they will be tested again after a review of the skills they need help with.
Please send back the permission form to watch the president's speech to elementary students on Tuesday.
Picture day is Wednesday, September 9.
I hope everyone that has been ill will feel better soon and be able to return to school on Tuesday. Please know that you were missed.
