I am moving to 5th grade and am very excited about this change. This is my third year teaching at Rutherford School. I taught Kindergarten and Jumpstart Kindergarten. I bet you are wondering why in the world I am going to teach fifth grade. Let me assure you that your child will learn and be well taken care of all year. My motto is that your child's education is a partnership between you, your child and myself. We will work together this year to provide your child with the best possible learning experience. Let me also assure you that your child will be loved. Each year I adopt a new group of children and love them as my own.
Let me tell you just a little bit about myself. I am a mother of two beautiful young ladies who will be going to college in the fall. Maria will return to Austin Peay University, in Clarksville, and Meredith will be a freshman at Memphis College of Art. Currently I live in Union City, but I will be moving to Trenton in September. My heart is in Gibson County now, and I want to live where I teach. I am currently working on my Masters Degree through Trevecca Nazarene College. I will graduate in May 2010.
The best way to contact me will be through email jlones@k12tn.net , or you may call me at school and I will return your call as soon as time allows. We will communicate daily through the student planner. You will be required to sign the planner each night. I am always willing to listen with an open mind. However, I cannot be disturbed during class time. If I am disrupted during classroom time, your child misses out. Every minute we are in school is valuable. I hope you can understand where I am coming from. I only want what is best for your child.
